Team Bios

Ashley Nichole Childers

My name is Ashley Childers and I was born in Arizona and grew up in Southern California. I am currently in my fifth year at BYU and will graduate in April with my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a minor in mathematics.  I am planning on starting graduate school here in the fall to get my masters degree in civil and environmental engineering. I played on the BYU women’s golf team for my first four years of college and plan on playing professionally in the next year or so. The only time I have been to Mexico was for a golf tournament in Bajamar; I had a great time there. I am very excited to work with your team in Mexico. My first few years of engineering I wanted to emphasize in structural design and have recently changed my focus more towards water resources and related topics. I feel that as we work together we will be able to tackle the project at hand.

Mi nombre es Ashley Childers y este es mi quinto año en BYU. Yo nací en Arizona pero crecí en California del Sur. En este momento estoy estudiando ingeniería civil, con un minor en matemáticas,  y me voy a graduar en Abril de este año. Tengo planeado empezar una especialización (grad-school) acá en BYU para adquirir un masters en ingeniería civil y ambiental.

Tuve la oportunidad de jugar golf en el equipo de BYU los primeros cuatro años de mi carrera y pienso tener el golf en cuenta para mis planes futuros. Quiero jugar profesionalmente e intentarlo el año que viene.

Solo he tenido la oportunidad de ir a México una vez y fue para un torneo de golf. Fuimos a Bajamar y fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora y divertida.  Estoy muy emocionada y complacida de trabajar en su equipo en México.

Mis primeros años de ingeniería los quería enfatizar en diseño estructural pero ahora quiero enfocarme en recursos del agua y todo lo relacionado con ello. Siento que si trabajamos juntos como equipo vamos a lograr todos nuestros objetivos.
