My name is John Parsons. I was raised in the Dallas Fort Worth area of Texas. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the South Africa Durban Mission. My father works as an information technology auditor, and my mother is a diagnostician at a local school district. My older brother is working on his doctorate in optical engineering at the University of Arizona, and is married with two children. I have two sisters the older one is at Brigham Young University-Idaho, and the younger one is a senior in high school.

I recently graduated from Brigham Young University-Provo with my Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. I am now working on my Masters Degree at Brigham Young University-Provo, emphasizing in water resources.
