This week we were able to delinate the watershed above Los Quemados.  Justin put togther the Curve Number mapping table, and now we have the basin delineated with the curve numbers.  We still need to identify the structures in WMS so that we can run HEC-RAS above each structure.  We continued work on the presentation poster.  We still need to find out the poster dimensions.

We received several more items from our team members; shape files for reservoirs, rivers, and soils data.

Last week we had a video conference with our correspondents in the Dominican Republic.  Dr. Nelson spoke in the beginning about what data is needed by the majority of the teams.  Nathan communicated our understanding of the project and Dr. Nelson helped to communicate and ask them what it is that they want us to analyze. They expressed the fact that they want us to do an analysis of a potential site for a dam. We need to figure out how big the dam would need to be to prevent flooding.

This week most of our time was spent working on the "Scope of Work" document. While writing this document we discovered we have several questions about what exactly they are wanting us to do. We initially thought we would create an HMS model in order to predict how much flooding would occur from specific rainfall event.

This week we spent some time working on the "Scope of Work" document. We also worked on delineating the watershed based by using the 90m DEM that was sent to us by our teammates in the Dominican Republic.

We got a response from our teammates expressing their pleasure to be working with us as well.  They provided a list of watershed data that they have collected that will be useful in the design of the watershed model.

An email was sent to our team members in the Domincan Reupblic introducing ourselves. We expressed our excitement to be working on the Los Quemados project.
